All major
religions of the
world propound the
theory of rebirth,
after death. That which
is born has
got to die
is an universal
law. That which
dies should be born again
is spiritual law.
When, where and
how the departed
soul gets reborn is
a mystic question
for which the
answer is not
easily decipherable.
It is generally
believed that our
present birth is
attributed to our
deeds done in the
previous one. We should
thank the Almighty
for having deposited us
in the earth
in human shape,
with the precious
sixth sense embedded
in brain, which
the less fortunate
five sensed beings
lack. The word
humane encompasses in
itself kindness, compassion
and care for others, as we
the two legged are
the blessed, superior
ones to traverse
this Universe, and are
more highly placed
than the four
legged creatures and
more legged centipedes.
Looking at the bizarre,
horrid events that
take place in
different parts of the
world, we are
dumbfounded and speechless
by the cruelty, pain
that men inflict on fellow humans, driven
by factors involving religious, regional, caste, communal and
other differences. It
only makes us
to think that
in the present
“ Kali Yuga “, the four
legged creatures seem
to have a
more polished, rational behavioral
pattern, as they bestow
more affection not
only towards their
fellow beings but
also on their
human masters.
Over the
years, I have seen people who
possess(ed) unblemished character,
sterling habits and have(d)
led life on
an impeccably clean
slate, going through travails
and experiencing difficulties ( can be extended to hell in some cases ) aplenty,
in their lifetime.
Seeing ( having seen ) them
from a close
quarter, I am left
to wonder as
to why should
such pious, god fearing,
polished, harmless people suffer
so much? What is
the reason for they undergoing
such physical torture,
mental turmoil, totally
bereft of peace and tranquility,
burdened with ailments and
agonizing pain? The
aspect of physical
illness is not restricted to
the common man
alone, but has
extended its hold to
some God men too,
revered and respected
by millions.
Contrarily I
have also seen ( still see ) miserly,
unethical people have a happy sailing
in the sea
of life, without the
ship getting rocked
or running into
rough weather. Importantly their journey also ended
smooth, with the ship
reaching the ultimate eternal destination
by anchoring properly.
Whenever a
poser is raised
on the conundrums
of human life, the answer
to this piquant,
quizzical question flows
on the following lines
- “ What to do, It
is all one’s
Karma. One has
to submit to its
dictates meekly without
qualms, as every event in life
gets unfolded as per one’s
destiny – “ Karma Phalan “, which
is all
powerful. Unquestionable too.
I do
not know what
birth I had
in the previous
innings. As a
matter of fact, nobody
knows that, for
sure. Rather I
do not even
remember my dinner
menu a couple
of days back.
But with Divine
Grace and Elderly
Blessings, the game so
far has gone relatively smooth, with
occasional bumpy, rough
patches, all within
the acceptable limits of
human endurance. It
can be vouched
that my positive
traits outnumber the
negative ones. It
is enough if
we extend a
helping hand to
deserving people wherever,
whenever and howsoever possible, and desist from disturbing others.
Personally speaking, I
feel that a
person should get rewarded
for his good
deeds and punished for
the wrong acts
committed by him / her,
in the present birth
itself, as both are
dispensed by the
Almighty. There should not
be any outstanding in their account
books when
the mortal coil
is shed.
Like countless
fellow humans, I too desire
and yearn to
escape from the
cycle of birth
and rebirth. I can
only propose to
my Creator, as
He alone can
dispose.
